New NetScreen-5GT Wireless Extends Best-in-Class Enterprise Security to
Wireless Environments

Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced it is extending its purpose-built, best-in-class remote office security solution, the Juniper Networks NetScreen-5GT, to wireless networking environments. The new Juniper Networks NetScreen-5GT Wireless combines a proven, enterprise-class security gateway and best-in-class wireless network security to deliver the depth and breadth of protection and assurance that customers are demanding for wireless access in distributed remote sites and small offices.
The NetScreen-5GT Wireless introduces patent-pending Wireless Security Zones and a broad set of wireless specific authentication and privacy mechanisms to enable customers to provision appropriate levels of wireless access for different classes of user. In addition, consistent wireless security profiles can be maintained across the enterprise and remote office sites. These features, combined with the firewall and VPN functionality, ease of management and price performance make this a powerful, integrated solution.
“Delivering secure, cost-effective wireless access to the branch office presents administrative and security challenges to the enterprise IT organization. Juniper addresses these challenges with a flexible selection of wireless security zones and a wide range of wireless authentication and privacy mechanisms, ensuring that enterprise IT staff can deploy wireless in the branch with confidence that the network will be secure and functional.” said Joel Conover, Principal Analyst, Current Analysis. “The combination of WAN connectivity, security, and wireless in a single enterprise-class appliance is a clear winner for the branch office market and for Juniper's customers.”

Increased Protection through Security Zones
The NetScreen-5GT Wireless brings to market wireless security zones – a new, patent pending feature - that allows a customer to establish up to four wireless zones, each with their own separate and distinct wireless interface for better policy enforcement and flexibility. To protect against attacks at the network and application level, each security zone can be assigned its own discrete security parameters including Deep Inspection, antivirus and wireless specific authentication and encryption. Additionally, administrators have the flexibility to establish different levels of network and application-level access for guest users, as well as employees.
“Security and integrated wireless networking is increasingly a requirement for distributed enterprises supporting remotes sites and small offices. Yet, until today, the ability to apply the required levels of security and assurance to these networks has been severely limited.” commented Stephen Philip, director, Product Marketing, Juniper Networks. “With the new NetScreen-5GT Wireless, Juniper Networks is delivering a purpose-built, proven solution that address these issues in an integrated platform.”
Availability
The NetScreen-5GT Wireless with integrated 802.11b/g wireless access point, stateful and Deep Inspection firewall, VPN and optional embedded antivirus is available immediately. An optional integrated ADSL modem is also available.
