JUNIPER NETWORKS EXTENDS SCOPE AND AVAILABILITY OF COMPETITIVE TRADE-UP PROGRAM ACROSS EMEA

Campaign Boosted by Fun Trade-up Opportunity

Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that it is extending its current competitive trade-up program in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region until 31st December 2005, due to demand. Aimed at end users, the program is operating via Juniper Networks’ J-Partner Reseller accredited network, and extends across its entire security (Firewall/VPN, SSL and IDP) and enterprise routing (J-series, M-series) portfolios. The program has also been revised to include Juniper’s application acceleration portfolio (DX, WX), resulting from its recent acquisition of Redline Networks and Peribit Networks.
The program is available via any authorized J-partner, and enables end users to purchase selected Juniper products at a discount, in exchange for customers’ existing competitive products. Competitive vendors covered by the program are: Routing (Cisco, Nortel), Firewall/VPN (Check Point, Cisco, Nokia), IDP (Cisco, ISS), SSL (Check Point, Cisco, Nortel), WAN acceleration (Expand, Packeteer), Data centre acceleration (Cisco, F5, Nortel).
“This program is designed to give customers good value for money against competitive products that are nearing the end of their depreciable life, while enabling our partners to gain footholds in new markets”, said Gert-Jan Schenk, vice president of channels and alliances EMEA, Juniper Networks.
The end user discount can only be obtained if a signed Proof of Removal certificate confirms that the competitive products have been fully removed from the customer’s network. Fun Trade-Up Offer
Customers can also trade-up promotional mugs, t-shirts and pens from Cisco and Check Point. Applicants must submit a photo of the old item being destroyed, and Juniper Networks will send a replacement item. The customer sending the winning photo will receive a free iPod 40GB MP3 player.
